infamous episode of Netflix\u2019s \u2018Drive to Survive\u2019 in which the English town of Milton Keynes was criticised for not being the best home for the sport\u2019s newest star.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, following his move to Italy to be closer to the team\u2019s base, Tsunoda has matured and improved his fitness in the 2022 season \u2013 but that does not mean he still cannot be shown up by his 66-year-old boss.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Tsunoda told<a rel=\"\u201cnofollow\u201d\" href=\"https:\/\/the-race.com\/formula-1\/franz-tost-was-in-better-shape-than-me-tsunoda-interview\/\"> The Race<\/a> in March that Tost was in better shape than he was and if the Japanese driver\u2019s most recent comments suggest something, it is that fact has not changed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe runs 10 kilometres at 5:30 in the morning, which I\u2019ve never done before,\u201d the AlphaTauri driver told <a rel=\"\u201cnofollow\u201d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport-total.com\/formel-1\/news\/tsunoda-staunt-ueber-teamchef-tost-er-laeuft-um-5-uhr-zehn-kilometer-22081705\">Motorsport-total.com<\/a>. \u201cThe way he trains every day, how much he puts into his training, I was really impressed. I don\u2019t know how old he is, around 60 years old (Tost is 66).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m trying to change my body. Last year, fitness was kind of a limitation. So I\u2019m really focusing on that. The schedule is totally different compared to previous years \u2013 how I spend the off-season, and I feel much better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tsunoda\u2019s efforts have not gone unnoticed as Tost previously said a bit of naivety in terms of fitness is natural for new F1 drivers but that the 22-year-old was on the right track now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a young driver coming into Formula 1, completely surprised by the forces he\u2019s exposed to in Formula 1,\u201d Tost said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s braking, fast corners, slow corners with right-left forces against the neck and so on. But Yuki was fit last year, otherwise he wouldn\u2019t have finished ninth in Bahrain. But of course he realised, like all the other young drivers, you have to train more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/news\/franz-tost-yuki-tsunoda-diet\/\">Tsunoda moved from England to Italy halfway through his rookie season<\/a> and has credited his inability to order from UberEats as a main factor behind his fitness improvement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYuki, he came to Faenza and his trainer was with him,\u201d Tost said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had to train twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon, until it was very good. The physical fitness because of the training improves.
