The time has come to grab the eggnog, put on your fuzziest socks, and kick back to watch all of your favorite Christmas movies. Whether you want to tune into a classic holiday flick or a cheesy romantic comedy, you’d be surprised at how many options are on your fave streaming platforms like Hulu.

The streaming network has oldies, cult classics, and some of its own original content. Take Happiest Season, for example. Kristen Stewart is now an Oscar-nominated actress, so the holiday movie’s stock has only risen since it was released in 2020. Aaanndd it was the first queer holiday film released by a major studio. Need I say more?

Plus, with add-ons from Starz, HBO Max, and Showtime, you’ll get access to some all-time faves like Love Actually, Jingle All The Way, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and the highly-contested Die Hard. (Given that selection, it might be the perfect time to start a free trial 👀)

Named the first queer Christmas movie from a major studio, Happiest Season shows what it’s like to meet the parents for the holidays…when they don’t know they’re meeting you. Harper (Mackenzie Davis) brings her girlfriend Abby (Kristen Stewart) home for Christmas, but because Harper hasn’t come out to her family yet, they think she’s just a friend. Cue the classic holiday movie hijinks that lead both Harper and Abby on journeys of self-discovery and, ultimately, self-acceptance. With a supporting cast of Schitt’s Creek’s Dany Levy, Aubrey Plaza, and Alison Brie, you’ll add this one to your holiday movie rotation.

2 The Holiday

Nothing says “happy holidays” quite like a Nancy Meyers romantic comedy. An English woman and a Californian swap homes for the holidays and fall in snow-capped/sun-soaked love along the way. The all-star cast features Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, and Jude Law.

3 Dear Santa

People don’t often think of Christmas movies coming in the form of documentaries, so Dear Santa definitely breaks the mold. This film highlights the Operation Santa program that ensures letters to Santa get to the jolly man in the red suit. It’s a feel-good documentary that’s fun for the whole family.

4 Holly’s Holiday

Holly’s Holiday plays on the classic rom-com trope of being torn between two lovers—except, in this case, the “perfect” man is literally a mannequin that comes to life. The titular character must choose between the one who’s perfect on paper and the one who’s perfect IRL. Isn’t that always a tough decision?!

5 Arthur Christmas

The whole outcome of one child’s Christmas lies in the hands of Santa’s son Arthur (voiced by James MacAvoy) in this animated movie. Because of his oversight, he goes on a hunt to find the most popular toy of the year for his son: the Turbo-Man action hero. It’s literally every parent’s nightmare as chaos, inevitably, ensues. 7 Saying Yes To Christmas

There are Christmas parties galore during the season. Now, imagine if you had to say yes to every single one you were invited to. (Yikes, no, thank you.) Indeed, that’s the premise of Saying Yes To Christmas. Not only does the protagonist channel Shonda Rhimes’ “Year of Yes” mentality while home for the holidays, but she also reignites a romance with an old flame in the process. Sign me up for any film starring Regina Hall, Taye Diggs, Terrence Howard, and Nia Long. The Best Man Holidays follows a group of college friends that reunite for the holidays after 15 years. As you can expect, old feelings and past relationships start to surface. It’s sexy, dramatic, and fun all rolled into one film.

In an attempt to cure her writer’s block, a novelist ventures to her father’s winter wonderland for a writer’s workshop. There, she meets a non-fiction writer who is poised to be her muse. He convinces her that in order to write about love, you have to experience it. Smooth.

If the Christmas scene of every Little Women movie is your favorite, then you’re in luck with this modern retelling of Louisa May Alcott’s famous novel. After all, what could make the holidays better than spending a few hours with the March sisters? Sadly, it’s not the same cast as the 2019 version, but this film is fun nonetheless.

14 Girlfriends Of Christmas Past

Forget the ghost of Christmas past. This holiday hijinks-filled film is all about the Girlfriends of Christmas Past. When a woman gets dumped by her boyfriend around the holidays, she finds two other women that he wronged. It’s a good ‘ole fashioned revenge movie with a dash of romance.

15 A Christmas Switch

If you love Freak Friday, this is the Christmas movie for you. Two moms with opposite lives wish for things to be different. When a man finds out he’s not getting the Christmas bonus he expected, his boss invites him over to earn it. The only issue is he has to beat his rival in a violent game.

If your ultimate Christmas present is a dog, this movie was made for you. When a man struggles to keep his dog GPS locator company in business, a new person on his team must help return 12 puppies left at a photoshoot to their homes.
