Drake Is Taking Some Time Away From Music to Focus on His Health

Drake just dropped his eighth studio album, For All the Dogs—and that might be the last new music we hear from him for a while. The Canadian rapper, who recently wrapped his It’s All a Blur North American tour, has stated that he will be taking some time away from the studio in order to focus on some long-running health issues, and “get right” in his personal life.

“I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be honest,” he said during an interview on the SiriusXM show Table for One. “I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be real with you.”

Drake went on to describe how he’s been suffering from the “craziest problems” with his stomach, although he didn’t go into detail about his condition.

“I need to focus on my health first and foremost and I’ll talk about that soon enough,” he continued. “Nothing crazy but just I want people to be healthy in life and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. So I need to focus on my health and get right, and I’m going to do that.”

“I need to get right,” he repeated. “I have a lot of other things that, I would love to focus on. So I’m gonna lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe, maybe a year or something, or maybe a little longer.”
