SENECA FALLS — Beginning in the fall of 2024, the Northeast College of Health Sciences will offer three new degree programs.
The Route 89 college, formerly Eisenhower College and then New York Chiropractic College, will offer associate degrees in radiologic technology and diagnostic medical sonography. It also will offer an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, with plans to offer a new masters degree in physician assistant studies in the future.
“We are excited to expand our offerings at the college and continue to educate future health care leaders for the increasingly collaborative health care environment,” said Dr. Anne Killen, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Northeast. “With our rich experience evolving to meet the growing needs of health care education, Northeast College of Health Sciences will continue to deliver opportunities that foster academic excellence, leadership and professional best practices.”
The three new degree programs involved a charter change that was approved by the New York State Education Department in November.
Roger Weeden, director of Imaging Science Program Development, said Northeast is well-equipped to offer the imaging science associate degrees. He said the college has both the infrastructure and knowledgeable faculty to offer the digital imaging offerings.
Graduates will be prepared to be licensed under the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, according to Weeden. The college is now accepting applications for the two programs and will give priority to students who apply by Feb. 1, 2024.
The three new programs follow the college’s recent addition of a certificate program in massage therapy, along with its flagship program of doctor in chiropractic. There are also plans for a branch campus in Levittown to serve the New York City metro area.
