UXBRIDGE ― Police are on the lookout for a housebreaker who is into health and physical fitness.
Police are investigating three residential break-ins, all in “over-55 developments” in town, starting last week.
One of the break-ins happened Thursday, while the other two took place Monday. All three incidents occurred midday when no one was home, according to Melanie Blodgett-O’Toole, spokesperson for the Police Department.
In each case, a man — described as being medium-tall with a slim build and wearing dark, athletic clothing — was seen “exercising” in the areas targeted during the time of the breaks, Blodgett-O’Toole said.
Blodgett-O’Toole said witnesses saw a person they didn’t recognize start to do “stretches,” as if he was limbering up before a run.
The Police Department reminds residents to keep their security systems maintained and activated.
In addition, the Police Department urges the public to call the police if they see something that appears suspicious. Anyone with information or video surveillance footage of the fitness bandit can call Detective K. Tripp at (508) 278-7755.
