
Our recent pandemic had an extremely negative effect on our nation’s physical fitness. Our business of 43 years, the All-American Fitness Center, in New Hartford, was fortunate to have been deemed “Essential” because of the extensive post pulmonary, cardiac and orthopedic patients we serve. The bottom line: we were allowed to remain open for personal training only.
When we were allowed to re-open, we witnessed the ill effects of primarily internet instruction. Much of what is presented on the internet is reliable, but an equal amount is poor, misinformed and, at times, dangerous. Exercise “form” is at the core of any successful exercise program, particularly as it relates to resistance training. Exercise sequencing is also an essential component in a quality resistance training program. Last, but certainly not least is recovery.
