If you haven’t tried Hokas, I truly don’t know what you’ve been up to (I mean, they are one of the best running shoes for athleisure lovers and workout fanatics alike). But, now is the time to give the iconic shoes a whirl, especially since the brand is launching its second footwear capsule collection, called the Run Free collection, with activewear brand Free People Movement on Thursday, April 18 at noon EST. The buzzy drop will be available to shop on both partner’s online sites as well as Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The collection includes four pairs of re-designed Hoka classics, the Clifton 9 FPM in shade Circus, the Clifton 9 FPM in shade Eggnog, the Kawana 2 FPM in shade White, and the Clifton L Suede FPM in shade Ocean. Style-wise, these bright, light style are perfect for your spring athleisure fits.
In honor of the launch, I tested two pairs of shoes from the capsule, the Kawana 2 and the Clifton L Suede, and I must say I’m impressed. First off, if this capsule collection sells anything like the two brands’ initial collaboration, it’ll fly off the shelves within hours of hitting the site. And if you’re lucky enough to snag a pair of these limited-edition kicks, you’ll join the exclusive club of people sporting Hoka’s iconic shoes in these super rare colors. Being one of the first to test these sneakers, I’ve had multiple people come up to me asking where to find them, so I can guarantee you’ll face the same inquiries when you get your hands on them, too. And here’s the kicker: no one else will be able to snag a pair since they’ll be gone in a flash.
Aside from their exclusivity, I also love that these shoes add a pop of color to my wardrobe with their pastel shades and patterned laces. As someone with an all black, white, and grey closet (yup, that includes shoes, too), these shoes have been a welcome addition to my otherwise basic wardrobe.
Even though the shoes themselves haven’t undergone a redesign, this collection introduces new colorways for Hoka’s top-selling styles. I’m absolutely blown away by the comfort of the two pairs I tried. The Clifton L’s are a bit heavier than the Kawana 2, but it hav *so* much cushion, so I love wearing them on days where I’m out and about and need all the support I can get while walking. On the other hand, I took the Kawana out for a jog, and it’s so lightweight it feels like a sock.
So, are you ready to get your hands on this exclusive capsule collection? Be sure to shop on either of the brand’s websites on April 18 to snag a pair. Trust me, these are some of the cutest workout shoes I’ve seen in a while. If you missed the drop but still want to shop Hoka shoes, take a look at some of our favorites, below.
