The salutatorian at Parish Hill High School is a true gem.
Kaelyn Pearl has been named the salutatorian for the Class of 2024.
A Chaplin resident, Pearl lives with her parents and two younger siblings, a brother and a sister. A graduate of Chaplin Elementary School, she began her journey at Parish Hill in the middle school as a seventh grader.
Pearl plans to attend UConn this fall, where she intends to major in the Allied Health Sciences program on her journey to a career.
“I’d like to be an ultrasound technician,” Pearl said.
She is a scholar athlete who has played both basketball and soccer for Parish Hill and been named a captain of both teams.
Pearl has also volunteered at a basketball camp during the summer. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society and the Associated Student Government.
“She has helped at several community events and represented our school in sports leadership conferences,” Parish Hill Principal Brian Tedeschi said. “Kaelyn has excelled in numerous Advanced Placement and Honors classes. She is a true athlete and her leadership is evident when you see her play soccer or basketball.”
Pearl’s salutatory address was given at the Parish Hill commencement exercises.
