Four Women sues, accuses Attleboro Women’s Health Center of working to block abortions

One Attleboro women’s health care organization is suing another, alleging that the competitor used a variety of nefarious strategies to interfere with patients who sought abortions. Four Women Health Services is accusing Attleboro Women’s Health Center of using “false advertising, deception and recently, technological attacks” to redirect patients. In some cases, the lawsuit alleges, AWHC staff posed as Four Women “to hijack the potential appointment” or tell the patient that it was canceled. Four Women’s lawsuit also alleges that AWHC infiltrated their electronic platforms and was able to intercept messages sent by women who are seeking reproductive health care services. “AWHC is an organization whose mission is to prevent women from obtaining reproductive healthcare services, especially abortion care,” Four Women’s lawsuit states.The lawsuit also states, “Defendants’ false advertising and deception begins with AWHC’s marketing. Its anodyne name and website contents, including prompts to make appointments in connection with abortion care, are designed to deceive women into believing AWHC is a licensed medical provider.” Abundant Hope Pregnancy Resource Center Inc., which does business as AWHC, declined to comment on the lawsuit.Four Women’s lawsuit seeks an award of damages.
