Recalled beauty product classified as having potential of ‘adverse health consequences’

(WKBN) — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified a recall of a beauty product as having a possibility of adverse health consequences.

The recall of First Aid Beauty Repair Cream was initially issued on Dec. 24, 2024, but was updated with the classification on Tuesday, according to the FDA’s alert.

The reason for the recall was a deviation from “Current Good Manufacturing Practice,” meaning the product or process doesn’t meet the standards established for manufacturing. A product intended for quarantine was inadvertently distributed, according to the alert.

There were 2,756 jars under the recall with the expiration dates of 4/10/2026 and 4/11/2026 and lots 24D44 and 24D45 (colloidal oatmeal 0.5%, Coconut Vanilla, 14 oz.)

The product was distributed nationwide by First Aid Beauty Ltd.

According to the company, the product which was not intended for sale was inadvertently sold on FirstAidBeauty.com. Impacted customers were send an email, according to the company, and it was recommended that they discard the item.
