Advisers are recommending preliminary plans for a mental health crisis center in northeast Oklahoma City under the $1.1 billion MAPS 4 program.
Voters in 2019 approved Oklahoma City to use nearly $45 million toward the construction of mental health and substance abuse crisis facilities and transitional housing. The upcoming MAPS 4 Mental Health Crisis Center will be a new city-owned facility managed by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, including space for patient assessment, detoxification, crisis de-escalation, counseling, respite and adequate sleep.
