Stuber Mobile Health Clinic promoting women’s health

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Stuber Health’s mobile health clinic made its monthly stop at the Sisters of Solace Market this week, offering fast, affordable, and accessible screenings for breast and cervical cancer, STDs, and overall women’s wellness.

The initiative aims to break down barriers in healthcare by bringing critical services directly to communities. Clinic manager and registered nurse Edna Mensah emphasized the importance of early detection in saving lives.

“I always tell everybody that comes to the clinic, early detection saves lives,” Mensah said. “If you identify a problem early, the chances of successful treatment are much higher, whether it’s cancer, high blood pressure, or diabetes. Lifestyle changes and medications can make a huge difference when issues are caught early.”

Each month, the mobile clinic travels to different locations, encouraging women to prioritize annual check-ups. Early detection is especially crucial for cancers, and the clinic has already helped multiple women identify and treat cancers in their earliest stages.

The screenings provided are identical to those offered in hospitals, just in a more convenient setting.

“Transportation issues, scheduling conflicts, and work obligations often prevent women from seeking care,” Mensah explained. “With the mobile clinic, someone might step in during a 30-minute lunch break instead of taking a full day off for an appointment.”

The Stuber Health mobile clinic visits a new location every third Friday of the month.
