SHEBOYGAN – The inpatient behavioral health unit at the Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County is set to close in September.

The medical center, 3400 Union Ave., is closing the unit Sept. 19, citing a 67% decrease in patients utilizing inpatient care over the last 18 months. Instead, the space will be utilized for additional medical and surgical inpatient beds, which have seen occupancy rates at nearly 100%, according to Aurora Health Care.
