EUNICE, La. (NEWS 15) — Students interested in healthcare careers had a chance to explore options beyond the traditional roles of doctors and nurses. LSU Eunice hosted a Health Sciences Open House to highlight its in-demand programs.
Kristie Leger, health sciences dean at LSU Eunice, emphasized the importance of showcasing the variety within health sciences.
“Many people know of health sciences, like the nursing or a doctor role, but not many have an understanding of all the other facets of health sciences,” she said.
She explained that the open house aimed to broaden students’ understanding of available programs.
“We’re inviting students in to kind of see what else there is out there and everything that LSUE has to offer here on our campus,” Leger stated.
The event allowed prospective students to tour state-of-the-art labs and learn about high-demand healthcare careers.
