A new women’s health center opened Wednesday in Arlington on the Medical City Arlington campus.

The health center, the Pearl Women’s Center at HHM Health Arlington, is a comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology health center, said Dr. Victoria Dillard, the center’s lead physician. The Pearl Women’s Center is at 3201 Matlock Rd. In addition to full-spectrum gynecologic services, the Pearl also offers support through weight loss management, hormonal therapy, and behavioral health and nutritional needs, Dillard said.

“Many women look at their OB-GYN as their primary care provider,” Dillard said.

The Pearl is part of a broader network of clinics operated by the Dallas-based HHM Health, designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center. These centers, known as FQHCs, receive federal funding to provide health care in regions that are medically underserved. Typically, FQHCs are one of few options available for adults without health insurance and who don’t qualify for other assistance programs. In 2024, HHM Health served 6,800 adults who did not have insurance, according to federal data.

Texas has more uninsured residents than any other state in the nation. Nearly 22% of adults under 65 did not have health insurance in 2024, almost double the national rate of uninsurance, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Pearl is affiliated with Medical City Arlington, Dillard said, allowing patients to see their doctor at the Pearl and deliver their babies at Medical City’s hospital, she said.

“My goal is always to make sure people feel safe and to ensure that I am developing a rapport with patients and making sure they feel listened to and heard,” Dillard said. “So that when they do transition to the hospital, they feel confident in their care team.”

The Pearl will also be partnering with the Dallas-based organization Delighted to Doula, Dillard said, allowing patients to connect with doulas during and after their pregnancies.
