Health Sciences administrator announces retirement at OU

Oakland University will be losing a dedicated dean in August.

Kevin Ball announced his retirement as dean and professor of the School of Health Sciences at Oakland University effective Aug. 15.

Under his leadership, the school introduced new bachelor’s degrees, three new master’s degrees, the first doctoral degree as well as numerous graduate certificates.

Prior to joining OU in 2016, Ball served as associate dean for research and community in the college of education, nursing and health professions at the University of Hartford and earned three degrees from the University of Toronto.

Ball has overseen development of numerous laboratories, faculty and student research programs, community and leadership programs and creation of the School of Health Sciences Board of Advocacy and Resource Development.

An interim dean is expected to be named in June.
