A Japanese YouTuber has shared the dramatic transformation he achieved after sticking to an intense bodyweight workout routine every day for three years. Tasuke documented the challenge, committing to 100 push-ups, 100 squats, 100 sit-ups and a 10k run daily. The routine was inspired by anime character One Punch Man and has become infamous online for its difficulty.
In a video reflecting on the experience, Tasuke admitted the first few weeks were particularly brutal.
‘At first, my entire body was sore,’ he said. ‘My knees hurt and even walking felt difficult, but I kept doing it.’
Alongside the daily workouts, the 41-year-old also set additional goals for himself, including completing a marathon in under four hours. He later progressed to ultramarathon events covering 100km and even 200km distances.
Over the course of the challenge, Tasuke dropped from around 74.7kg to 62kg while maintaining muscle mass. Videos shared online show a dramatic shift from his starting physique to a much leaner build several years later.
Tasuke continued training even after contracting Covid, at one stage completing his running mileage indoors while isolating at home. He also documented injuries sustained during the challenge, including losing several toenails, though that still failed to deter him.
While the results are impressive, the sheer training volume would obviously be unrealistic for most people. Still, Tasuke’s progress highlights what years of consistency and perseverance can achieve, even with a relatively simple programme.
