What Did ‘RHOBH’s Sutton Say To Crystal That Was Damaging During Their Fight? Here’s Everything To Know

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is really diving deep into the drama this season and naturally, there is a feud or two in the mix. One biggie: the tension between Crystal Kung Minkoff and Sutton Stracke.

The fight stems back to comments Sutton made about racial stereotypes in season 11. And, while Sutton and Crystal seemed to have moved on from things and even were working on their friendship, Garcelle Beauvais kinda totally stirred the pot again during last night’s episode.

“When you and Sutton had your thing, I felt like no matter what she said—she could’ve said the sky is blue—you were going to say, ‘Are you that girl?’ ’cause I just felt like it was a set up,” Garcelle said.

Crystal then replied, “Now that you know me, do you still think that?” Garcelle’s response: “I don’t know.”

During the course of this convo, Crystal also dropped a cryptic detail from the season 11 fight (one that has not been mentioned before) that has fans searching for more answers.

Naturally, things spiraled from there. OK, so…what’s the deal with this feud and where do things stand now? Here’s what you need to know.

How long have Crystal and Sutton been friends?

Crystal and Sutton met on the show and have had their issues, but they’re actually friends now. “I’m friends with everyone. I talk to Sutton a lot. We talk a lot,” Crystal told Us Weekly in March. “She grows on some, but she grew on me.”

What was the original season 11 fight about?

All of this drama stems back to an episode in May 2021, when Crystal (who is the first Asian-American housewife, BTW), spoke about racial stereotypes and how painful they can be.

Sutton, who is from Georgia, jumped in. “Do you want to talk about when I see dumbass rednecks on the TV and that’s supposed to be me? I also have a stereotype, but I don’t want to bring it up!” she said.

Crystal’s response: “Are you one of those people that you don’t see color? Tell me you’re not that girl.”

Naturally, things didn’t end well.

Did they make up after the first fight?

Short answer: Yes. Sutton spoke out publicly about the incident on Instagram after the episode aired.

“Despite Crystal and my strained relationship at the time, it was disrespectful to interrupt her and not listen to her express her truth,” Sutton wrote. “My life is blessed by the diversity of my relationships and I am committed to become a better listener to understand the painful realities experienced by people of color.

Crystal responded in the comments with this: “Thank you, Sutton. Your apology means a lot to me, and I’m sure it means a lot to many others with similar lived experiences. Asian Americans are often expected not to share their opinions, but despite this stereotype, I believe that everyone deserves to be heard. I consciously re-wired myself to be outspoken and share my feelings whenever possible and I encourage my children to do the same.”

What did Crystal reveal in last night’s episode?

Apparently, that wasn’t all that was said during the initial fight. Or at least not according to Crystal, who told Garcelle that, “there was a lot more said prior to [the original feud], that was very dark.”

What did Sutton say to Crystal?

Of course, everyone wanted more details about what ‘very dark’ things Sutton said, but Crystal stayed mum.

“When you say ‘I don’t want to say what it is,’ you allow the person that you just told it to, to fill in the blanks with the worst possible sh*t ever,” Erika Jayne said. “If it’s that bad, then don’t f*cking bring it up at all.”

How did the other Housewives respond?

Well, Sutton didn’t really respond after Crystal’s pseudo-allegation, but she later said that she’s “remaining calm because I know that I didn’t say anything that I should be ashamed of or anything ‘dark.’”

Garcelle continued to push for answers, though. “I just feel like what she alluded to made me feel like it was something that would change our dynamic if you had said something crazy,” she said to Sutton. “Watch your back with your new friend, that’s all I’m saying.”

Meanwhile, Sutton tried to just encourage everyone to move on. “You two are great, so that’s fantastic,” Garcelle said. “But what about everybody else that you leave in the rubble?”

Sounds like RHOBH fans may be in for some more intense drama as season 12 continues to unfold…
