Prime Minister Andy Burnham, 56, Is a Keen Runner – Here Are His Best Times

Andy Burnham is Britain’s new Prime Minister, and with the weight of the country on his shoulders, staying physically fit is one way to prepare for the demands of the job. With several marathons under his belt, the 56-year-old is a keen runner and can often be spotted lacing up for a weekend jog.

Completing a marathon is an impressive achievement in itself, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t just as curious as you about his finish times.

Andy Burnham’s Running Times

Most recently, Burnham ran the Great Manchester Run in support of the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, completing the 10K in 53:15.

His marathon PB came at the 2014 London Marathon, where he finished in 4:26:19. Five years later, he took on the Boston Marathon, crossing the line in 5:13:52.

In May, Burnham was accused of staging his jogging routine. Responding to the allegations on X, he wrote: ‘It’s part of my regular routine. I often leave my car at Newton station and do my morning run to pick it up. I did it again today because I had a pint at the match. I would say check it with my neighbours but don’t, as they don’t deserve the intrusion on our road.’

Regardless of his exact routine or finish times, completing multiple marathons and 10Ks suggests Burnham is in good shape. Whether that translates into running the country well is another matter.
