Vinyl Health Raises $2M from HealthX Ventures to Help Patients Record, Understand, and Share Their Care

MARLTON, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Oct 20, 2026–

Vinyl Health, a patient-first health technology company using ambient AI to help people record, understand, and share their own health information, today announced $2 million in seed funding led by HealthX Ventures. The funding will support Vinyl’s broader public launch and continued development of its personal health assistant, now available in the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

Navigating healthcare is increasingly difficult for patients and families. Information is often scattered across portals, printouts, visit summaries, referrals, family text chains, and memory. Vinyl helps people bring that information into one place. In addition to recording health visits and voice notes, people can pull health records from connected providers into Vinyl, creating a fuller picture of their care. Vinyl uses carefully calibrated AI tools to make sense of what happened and what comes next, while making it easy to share the right details with providers, bring loved ones in to help navigate care, and organize support from a wider circle of friends and family who want to help.

Vinyl was dreamed up by Dr. Kaitlan Baston, a national leader in integrated care and former New Jersey health commissioner and hospital CEO, to empower patients to better understand their health care and reduce the burden on patients and their loved ones.

“Patients are expected to make important decisions about their health, but they often leave appointments or hospitalizations without a clear understanding of what happened or what to do next,” said Dr. Kaitlan Baston, CEO of Vinyl Health. “Time is of the essence in healthcare, and access has been a problem for far too long. People are desperate for answers and guidance, and it is up to us to give them a trusted resource that has the full context of who they are. As I used to tell my patients, I’m the consultant. You’re the CEO of your own body. Now is the time to build around the patient.”

Vinyl is built for patients, but designed to strengthen the relationship between people and their care teams. By giving patients and families a clearer understanding of their whole health picture and what to do next, Vinyl aims to reduce confusion, improve follow-through, ease provider inbox burden, and make care easier to navigate. And unlike a tool that simply listens to and summarizes a single visit, Vinyl is designed to see a broader picture: the patient’s health records, a clear, holistic care plan, and the lifestyle and support the person needs. This clear plan also makes the provider’s job easier. When they have the relevant history and an integrated plan from all specialists in one place it is easier for them to connect quickly and make decisions, which builds trust. With the patient’s permission, that fuller context also gives Vinyl the potential to surface relevant questions and flag time-sensitive opportunities for both patients and providers, including therapies or clinical trials that could be important to a person’s care. This makes Vinyl an essential tool for any patient in our fractured healthcare landscape, and vital for people helping aging parents and other vulnerable loved ones manage their care.

The company also brings a privacy-forward approach to consumer health technology. Vinyl’s business model is not built around selling people’s health data, giving patients greater confidence that their information remains centered around their own care.

HealthX Ventures led the financing as part of its focus on backing digital health companies that make healthcare more efficient, accessible, and affordable.

“Vinyl is addressing a major gap in healthcare: the patient’s ability to record, understand, manage, and share their own health information,” said Mark Bakken, Managing Partner at HealthX Ventures. “By using AI to document the visit, Vinyl allows patients to be more present in the conversation with their doctor instead of worrying about remembering every detail. That creates a stronger, more informed relationship between patients and clinicians.”
