Are Natalie Lee And Shayne Jansen From ‘Love Is Blind’ Season 2 Still Together? An Instagram Investigation

Happy Valentine’s Day—not to you and your partner, but to Love Is Blind. The hit show is back, baby.

Everyone’s favorite Netflix reality dating show’s second season dropped today, and that, my friends, is a celebration of love worth reveling in. ICYMI (or blocked it out as the first season did drop right during the beginning of our international coronavirus nightmare) here’s everything you need to know about SEASON 2!

The show is an experiment aimed at determining whether love really is blind.

This show is supposed to test the age-old question, “Is love blind?”

Hopeful singles enter “pods” (that really just look like rooms with dividers, tbh) and are given a chance to chat with other potential partners. Thing is, they can’t see each other, so they are forced to evaluate whether or not to get married based on conversation and emotional connection. If it sounds bananas that’s because it IS. It is endlessly fascinating and a show worthy of a Valentine’s Day binge if I do say so myself.

They get married without seeing each other!?

Not exactly. Participants can finally see each other in the flesh after they get engaged. Then all of the couples are whisked off to Mexico for some QT, and that’s where things really start popping off.

Who are Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen?

Natalie and Shayne have proven to be one of season 2’s more controversial couples. (And with only half the season available so far, that’s quite an accomplishment!) Twitter abounds with people posting that they will cancel their Netflix account if these two crazy kids stay together. Le gasp!

What happens to them on the show?

So, while in the pods, Shayne is torn between Natalie, a 29-year-old consulting manager, and Shaina, a 31-year-old freelance hairstylist. He eventually picks Natalie and tells Shaina she missed her chance because she didn’t profess her love for him fast enough. (Shayne and Shaina—a missed wedding hashtag opportunity for sureeee).

When Shayne and Natalie hit Mexico, alongside Shaina and her new pick, Kyle Abrams—Can you say LOVE TRIANGLE!?—one can only hope it gets as messy as the old Barnett-Jessica-Amber triad of season 1.

Once in the ~paradise~ of this reality set in Mexico, things seem to go a bit downhill. First, Natalie and Shayne come to realize they both normally sleep on the same side of the bed (seems like a small compromise, but OK!). Natalie then says Shayne’s nighttime snacking and TV watching in bed is her “worst nightmare,” according to Bustle. And he counters that Natalie’s lack of affection is a big problem for him, arguing that she doesn’t give their relationship enough credit.

“I just show my love differently. I think you have such high expectations,” Natalie said. “I’m not about PDA. I’m not gonna always be, like, super affectionate with you.” Only the first five episodes are out, but things end on a low note for these two when Shayne storms off.

While things are looking rocky, Natalie and Shayne’s fellow contestants are rooting for them. When they all meet up for the first time as a group, most everyone says Shayne and Natalie have the most staying power—they’ve got this kind of opposites attract thing going for them. Whether it lasts is TBD.

What’s coming next?

Previews for the next batch of episodes, which come out on Feb. 18, show Natalie and Shayne have reconciled. But not without some continued turbulence. When Natalie tries to show her parents her engagement ring, her mother says she doesn’t want to see it (yikes).

“We have such big issues. I think I’m at a breaking point,” Natalie says in the preview. And Shayne says, “This is not how I pictured my wedding day.” Perhaps not the best sign.

So…are they still together?

Well, obviously the season hasn’t come to a close yet so there’s no *official* statement, but it’s not looking great. Unlike some of the other couples (and we’ll get to them), Shayne and Natalie do not appear to follow each other on the ‘gram. To make matters worse…guess who Shayne does follow? SHAINA!

An investigation by The Dipp shows that Shaina has been liking Shayne’s posts quite a bit, even as far back as 2018. [I present EXHIBIT A to the court].

And then when Shaina posted the trailer for Love Is Blind, Shayne commented a zipped mouth emoji. She responded: 😶. [Allow me to present, EXHIBIT B].

Meanwhile, Natalie has been traveling in Hawaii posting glamor shots aplenty. See:

Is this the IG behavior of a newly married woman? Maybe, but probs not.
