Penn State Health has completed construction on the new Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center at State Road and Harrisburg Pike in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. The hospital expects to open on Oct. 3.
The 341,000-square-foot, six-story medical center will include 132 private inpatient beds, an emergency department, various specialty inpatient services, including a cardiac catheterization laboratory, labor and delivery and medical and surgical capabilities. It also has an attached medical office building for physician practices and outpatient services.

Corl Family Eyecare opened at 2505 N. Front St. The practice offers eye health services and provides a selection of designer frames and sunglasses.
Harrisburg-based Homeland Center’s community outreach program, Homeland at Home, will now offer palliative care services. Homeland will provide in-home palliative care to patients who are 18 years or older who have a serious illness. The Homeland palliative care team consists of board-certified nurse practitioners, a licensed medical social worker and a physician medical director.
UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing at UPMC Harrisburg
UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing at UPMC Harrisburg has opened at Strawberry Square at 320 Market St.
Derry Township
Di and Dallas Krapf Interfaith Chapel
The Krapf Interfaith Chapel at the Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center has opened. The chapel is used for prayer, meditation, pastoral counsel, regular worship services, small family celebrations, special recognition events and ceremonies and larger religious holy day observances. The chapel will be open at all times. The pastoral services team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Carlisle
UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital opened a new Level II neonatal intensive care unit. The new NICU opened at UPMC Carlisle hospital and includes six beds with equipment for advanced care and monitoring, and a neonatal team that provides specialized care for babies who are born premature as early as 32 weeks or who need extra time and support.
East Pennsboro Township
Capital Area Cardiovascular Associates
The cardiology practice opened at 875 Poplar Church Road.
UPMC Central PA Weight Management Center
UPMC Carlisle Bariatric Surgery Associates has changed its name and its location. The practice now known as UPMC Central PA Weight Management Center relocated to 225 Grandview Ave., Suite 303.
UPMC Kunkel Surgical Associates
UPMC Kunkel Surgical Associates relocated to 225 Grandview Ave., Suite 303.

Drayer Physical Therapy Institute
Drayer Physical Therapy Institute opened the new outpatient clinic at 1200 Market St., Suite 268.
Lower Allen Township
Vibra Travels, a travel nursing and healthcare staffing business, was launched. Vibra Travels originated last year as an internal service, hiring traveling clinicians to work directly at Vibra Healthcare’s facilities. The company is focused on the hiring and placement of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and respiratory therapists.

Manheim Township
Curaleaf Lancaster, a medical marijuana dispensary, opened at 1440 Manheim Pike.
Lebanon County
South Lebanon Township
Lebanon Veterans Affairs Medical Center
The first phase of a $1.8 million expansion of the Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic at the Lebanon Veterans Affairs Medical Center has been completed. The remodel is the first phase of a scheduled three-phase plan for the 23,000-square-foot space. This first phase renovated 8,500 square feet of space, which includes 18 consultation rooms, one nurse triage station, three group rooms and a new waiting area.

The cardiology practice opened at 52 Red Hill Court.

WellSpan Health/Shady Grove Fertility
The two organizations have entered into an exclusive preferred provider relationship for assisted reproductive therapy services, including fertility, donation, and surrogacy services. The collaboration will expand the women’s health and fertility services offered by WellSpan Fertility Care for patients who are having trouble conceiving a child.
