- The College of Charleston seeks to expand their health sciences programs. The College is creating a new school meant to train more health care workers within South Carolina. The new school will be part of the current Department of Health and Human Performance, sharing program and classroom space. (WTMA)
- Charleston man has won the 59th annual International Masters Angling Tournament. Dennis Coleman, 58-year-old financial advisor, won the tournament at the Los Suenos Resort in Costa Rica after accumulating 577.5 points over the three day event. Coleman won the award while fishing for blue marlin and sailfish. (Charleston Post Courier)
- The Charleston Animal Society releases their new Rescue Brew beer. Rescues Pippin and Sirri will be the official spokes-animals of the beer’s can. The money from the sale of the beer will benefit the programs at the Charleston Animal Society.
