One of my goals for 2025 is to focus on beauty and wellness treatments, tools, and techniques that will improve my day-to-day and bring long-lasting health, and I’m sure many of you have this approach to all things wellness this year as well. To get the scoop on the latest trends that I should be taking advantage of to improve everything from my sleep routine to my skincare, I spoke with Sam Cutler, a Harvard-trained nutrition coach, creator of The Fit Fatale, and founder of the nutrition-focused platform MINDFULL.
Cutler understands how beauty is something that can be improved by everything from diet and nutrition to sleep to the showerhead we use, and I’m fascinated to learn how adding a certain ingredient to your diet can lead to clearer skin, or how a massage tool can help debloat your face. Keep scrolling for all the scoop on Cutler’s favorite beauty and wellness trends of the year and how you can practice them in your own routine.
Trend: A move away from diet culture and toward holistic nutrition and wellness.
Cutler notes that for years, “Diet Culture has dominated women’s health, focusing heavily on weight as a primary metric” which leads to a one-sided approach to nutritional health. She recommends embracing a holistic approach to nutrition that considers multiple factors like “gut health and consuming primarily whole foods” that can “significantly impact skin, digestion, mental health, and overall well-being.” Cutler’s own app MINDFULL provides recipes, coaching videos, mindset training, meal plans, and more to encourage users to practice a 360-degree approach to nutrition and wellness.
Trend: “Notox Botox”
“Non-invasive beauty tools are reshaping the market by delivering consistent results over time,” Cutler shared, with individuals opting for unique natural and cost-effective tools and products over injectables. One of her recommendations to get the “Notox” effect is Frownies, facial patches for the forehead, eyes, and mouth that are designed to smooth out wrinkles.
Trend: Natural approach to oral care.
Oral health goes a long way toward our overall health and longevity, and a beautiful smile is step one to any great beauty look! There are a few trending products that Cutler recommends, such as mouth tape, a tongue scraper, fluoride-free and plastic-free toothpaste and mouthwashes, and diving into holistic dentistry.
Trend: Facial shaping and lymphatic massages.
Massage techniques and tools like gua sha and facial balls have helped people achieve facial shaping without surgeries. “These methods promote lasting results through consistent self-care routines,” Cutler notes, “bypassing the need for pricey treatments.”
Trend: Biohacking nutrition with antioxidant-boosting foods integrated into daily routines.
Antioxidants are a great way to enhance your health and beauty from within. Pomegranates are one such antioxidant-rich superfood that Cutler recommends incorporating into your everyday diet, like pomegranate arils from POM Wonderful.
Trend: Anxiety-reducing sleep support.
You know I’m a big believer in the power of sleep in improving one’s overall beauty and wellness routines. Take the time this year to invest in tools and practices that can help improve your quality of sleep, like these weighted sleep masks from Nodpod.
Trend: Hydrating elixirs and powders for skin and hydration.
Staying hydrated is essential to your beauty and wellness, and enhancing your hydration with powders that feature added benefits makes every drink even better. Cutler recommends Pique, which features teas, matcha, electrolyte powders, and other items that you can mix into your drink to ingest beauty benefits.
Trend: Clean showers, better hair & skin.
A quality shower filter can do wonders for your skin and hair, filtering out hard water and harsh chemicals. Adding a filter like one from Jolie is a simple fix that will leave your skin feeling smoother, your hair feeling more hydrated, and your shower looking more beautiful, too!
Trend: Liposomal delivery.
Liposomal supplements help to make digestion and nutrient absorption more efficient, making it easier for you to take supplements and vitamins to improve your skin, health, immunity, and so on. Cutler is a big fan of Cymbyotika’s supplements, like their Liposomal Glutathione which provides anti-aging benefits.
