‘Iceman’ Gerwyn Price has taken to Instagram to show off his gym transformation – although his latest selfie has sparked plenty of debate online. The 41-year-old darts star has dropped an impressive 20kg and two shirt sizes in recent months, but fans were quick to question whether the heavily stylised image was AI-generated.
Price captioned the post: ‘First session back for a while. Getting there.’ While some commenters praised the transformation, others questioned whether the image itself was real.
Regardless of how edited the selfie may have been, Price’s transformation itself is genuine. Speaking to Boyle Sports recently, he explained that the weight loss happened gradually while continuing to compete on the PDC circuit.
‘I’ve been playing right through losing weight,’ he said. ‘It’s gradually happened over the last six months or so.’
With the packed darts schedule leaving ‘no chance for rest’, Price said the changes came through consistency rather than drastic measures.
‘While I’ve been playing I’ve been losing weight slowly and it’s been working,’ he added. ‘Just mentally, I feel a lot better in myself. When I’m putting a medium shirt on instead of an XL it feels a little bit better.’

The Welshman believes the increased confidence could even help his performances on stage.
‘As long as I’m confident in myself and feeling better going up on stage, it can only help,’ he said.
AI debate aside, Price’s 20kg transformation is still difficult to ignore – and the results deserve credit, even if the selfie itself raised a few eyebrows.
