Trillium Health Partners Foundation Launches $1 Billion Built for Us Campaign to Reshape Care that Works Better for People – Better, Faster, Smarter Care, Closer to Home

Built for Uswill help build the nation’s largest hospital and create a new model for health care, built for a rapidly growing community and designed to shape the future of care in Canada.

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 5, 2026 /CNW/ — Trillium Health Partners Foundation today announced a landmark $1 billion fundraising campaign – the largest in its history – to support the delivery of faster, more specialized care closer to home and a health system built around the people who rely on it.

Built for Us builds on historic investments from the Province of Ontario and the City of Mississauga, together with transformational support from donors, to advance one of the most significant health care transformations underway in Canada. This unprecedented combination of government, municipal and philanthropic investment is helping turn an ambitious vision for health care in Mississauga and the west GTA into reality.

“Built for Us is more than bricks and mortar. It is a promise that when your child is sick, when your parent needs care or when your family faces an unexpected health challenge, exceptional care will be there when you need it and closer to home,” said Caroline Riseboro, President and CEO of Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for our community to come together and help build a health system that is more connected, more responsive and built around the people it serves. Every gift to Built for Us helps turn that promise into better care for patients and families.”

The campaign will support The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital, set to become Canada’s largest hospital; the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children, Ontario’s first hospital dedicated to women’s and children’s health; and the redevelopment of The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre, which will more than double the number of beds at that facility. For patients and families, that means greater local access to emergency, medical imaging, rehabilitation and specialized services, expanded care for women and children, and a more connected, proactive health system that supports people at every stage of life.

As one of Canada’s fastest-growing and most diverse communities, Mississauga and the west GTA provide the ideal confluence of conditions to address the pressures reshaping health care across the country: rapid population growth, increasing complexity of care needs and rising demand for more convenient, connected services. Trillium Health Partners (THP) is building and testing a future of care that can be scaled across Canada, creating a system that works better by connecting care across the community.

“What has always made this community remarkable is its belief in building something better for the next generation,” said Karli Farrow, President and CEO, Trillium Health Partners. “Built for Us reflects something deeply Canadian: the belief that we are stronger when we look after one another. Together, we have an extraordinary opportunity to build a healthier future and show what health care in Canada can achieve when communities unite around a shared vision. We are grateful to the Province of Ontario, the City of Mississauga, and our transformational donors for their historic investments in making this vision possible.”

To mark the launch, Trillium Health Partners Foundation is releasing a limited-edition clothing collection, with a portion of proceeds supporting the $1 billion campaign goal. Featuring artwork by local artists Alyah Holmes, Chantelle Dorafshani, Kiki Hamazaki, Ray Vidal and Sima Naseem, the collection celebrates the culture, character and uniqueness of neighbourhoods across Mississauga and Etobicoke. The collection will be available online from October 5 to December 31 at shop.trilliumgiving.ca.

Campaign ambassadors include Canadian tennis champion and Mississauga native Bianca Andreescu and Toronto Raptors Superfan Nav Bhatia, a proud Malton resident. Andreescu and Bhatia are featured in the collection alongside Trillium Health Partners staff, helping bring the spirit of Built for Us to life.
